Julie's Milk Shake

Hi this is a update from both Daro and Melissa. Erik had another great day today. Erik is acting more and more like himself every day. Today occupational therapy came to help Erik with moving more. He was able to stand at the bedside (although the OT asked Melissa if Erik is normally so stubborn). Erik did as asked, but with some resistance. The goal for today was to get Erik to eat more. Melissa was able to get Erik to eat 3/4 of a kitkat bar, a whole package of string cheese, and a bite of pizza and a whole milk. Later that day Julie and Melissa were visiting with Erik. Erik wanted a chocolate milk shake. Julie being such a good friend bolted out of the room, ran to the cafeteria only to be disappointed that their were none to be found. But Julie is resourceful, She bought chocolate ice cream, ensure, and milk. She whipped up a delicious shake that Erik downed in 2 seconds flat. So that is enough about food for one day. Another important reminder. Erik gets irritated if you talk to him like a baby (good job, way to go...) nothing corny like that. Just talk to him like normal, other wise you may get heckled. Good night for now, talk to you all later.
