About Tuesday

I'm pretty sure that Erik is going to be discharged from OHSU tomorrow. I am not sure of the time. If you are planning on visiting him, you should make sure that he is still there first. The phone number for the unit he is in is 503.418.1300.

I think he may be transferred to one of two skilled nursing facilities that I ok'd. one is called the Village, its on SE 181st near Centennial highschool (between Powell and Division). This place is newly remodeled and they seem very capable of helping Erik. They are very full, so he may not get in. The only reason I chose this place over the next is because it is closer to home.

The second place is called Cascade Terrace, it is on SE 122nd between Powell and Foster (near Harold). This place is not remodeled and a little rough around the edges but inside it is clean, and everyone seems very nice. They also have a very good team to help Erik - this place was recommended by a couple of people. Both seem good and have their individual strengths.

So, we'll see tomorrow where he goes.

About today, It was a great day. Tanner and I came to visit Erik from about 5:30-7:30. Tanner was much more comfortable this time. He actually sat on Eriks bed and played cars on his chest. Erik was happy to have us there and we were both happy to see him happy. Tanner and I ate dinner at the cafeteria together and checked out the cool sculpture garden with the Millers. Erik's eyes are still swollen shut, which is a big bummer for him (and for everyone else). He was able to get up and walk to the sink today with OT. He also ate great - a rodeo burger & fries from BK AND he also really enjoyed a crunch icecream bar from the cafeteria. It's good to see him eating and enjoying food again. I wouldn't say that Erik is necessarily in a good mood - but he seems much more willing to do the things he needs to to get back home. He is homesick and thinks that he needs to get back to work right away. Whatever gets him moving is ok with me!

I'll let you know if he has moved to a new place tomorrow night.
